TCUP Brief 1 cover image with Emily Channell-Justice and video from ASN eventThe Temerty Contemporary Ukraine Program at HURI has launched a new series of short videos designed to bring key insights from events and papers to a broad audience.

TCUP Briefs are 3-5 minute videos featuring TCUP Director Emily Channell-Justice, who presents several core takeaways from a recent event she attended or paper she read. Each Brief video is accompanied by a full transcript as well as links to the original source, referenced materials, and related resources for those who would like to explore further.

The first TCUP Brief, "A Closer Look at IDP and Refugee Estimates," presents two major challenges to quantifying Ukraine's humanitarian crisis that experts presented at the March 17 event "Russian Invasion and Internal Displacement: Emerging IDP issues within Ukraine" (hosted by the Association for the Study of Nationalities). The speakers at the event were Cynthia Buckley (U of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA), Volodymyr Dubovyk (Mechnikov National U, Ukraine), Oksana Mikheieva (Catholic U, Ukraine), with Oxana Shevel (Tufts U, USA) as moderator.

TCUP plans to post one to two Briefs weekly as part of its effort to disseminate research and analysis on Russia's war against Ukraine.
