Emily Channell-Justice discusses humanitarian effort in PolandIn the sixth TCUP Brief, "Inside Poland's Humanitarian Response," TCUP Director Emily Channell-Justice shares her own experiences volunteering at humanitarian aid centers in Warsaw, Poland.

She describes informational resources at the train station, a food tent run by World Central Kitchen, and a "free shop" where refugees could go for groceries, supplies, and clothing. In addition to sharing observations about who volunteers and why, she covers a few ways well-intentioned donations miss the mark and the response of Ukrainian refugees to assistance strangers.

TCUP Briefs are 3-5 minute videos featuring TCUP Director Emily Channell-Justice, who presents several core takeaways from a recent event she attended or paper she read. Each Brief video is accompanied by a full transcript as well as links to the original source, referenced materials, and related resources for those who would like to explore further. TCUP plans to post Briefs regularly as part of its effort to disseminate research and analysis on Russia's war against Ukraine.
