The Harvard Ukrainian Student Association and the Harvard College Piano Society present a special concert to raise awareness and honor the victims of the war in Ukraine upon the one-year anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion. This concert is co-sponsored by the Ukrainian Research Institute and Office for the Arts at Harvard.
The concert will feature solo and ensemble music, poetry, and the stories of Ukrainian composers and writers. Works include those of Mykola Lysenko, Taras Shevchenko, Borys Lyatoshynsky, Valentyn Silvestrov, Frédéric Chopin, and Hanna Havrylets, who died a few days after the war started due to inaccessibility of critical care because of the invasion.
The concert is open to members of the Harvard and greater Boston community. Attendance is free, but donations to Razom for Ukraine are encouraged. Razom provides critical humanitarian war relief and recovery, helps local Ukrainian volunteer organizations, and advocates for Ukraine.
