Yuliya Ilchuk is Lecturer in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago. She received her candidate of sciences in literary theory degree (2000) from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and a PhD (2009) from the University of Southern California. Her research interests focus on 19th ‒21st century Russian and Ukrainian literature, postcolonial studies, translation studies, sociolinguistics and digital humanities. Her research topic while at HURI will be “The Geonarrative: Mapping Ethnic Communities and Identities of Ukraine’s South.”
